The Company promotes the use of clean energy through solar photovoltaic as it has been proven to be cost effective on the outer islands.
Since it was first established in 1984, the Company has been employing local people. The success of the company will depend on people who feel pride and dedication to their work. The company will continue to invest its resources in the training of its staff to ensure that they possess the necessary skills and knowledge required of them.
The KGES will strive to make sure that its customers receive the best service whenever they need it. The field staff will continue to monitor and maintain the systems on outer islands while the head office will provide all the necessary administration and technical support needed to efficiently operate the utility services on the outer islands. In terms of sales and marketing, the company will ensure that customers are served, made aware, and trained on the use of the systems.
The KGES will provide the utility services on the outer islands to enhance family and community life. KGES service will raise the living standards of the people in the outer islands by providing affordable, reliable and sustainable electricity to the community as a whole playing a significant role to the development of community life in each and every village.

Mandate
The Kiribati Green Energy Solution was set up under the rules of the Company Ordinance Cap 10. However, its objectives shares and detail administrative procedures and policies are guided by its own Articles of Association. The core objective for which the Company is incorporated are unrestricted and initially the Company will:
- Provide and/or distribute green and sustainable utility (electricity and complimentary services) to rural and urban areas.
- Purchase and/or distribute green energy systems and components.
- Support and contribute to achieving national and international energy goals and requirements.
- Maintain and operate Government renewable energy projects.
- Carry on any other business connected with/or incidental to the foregoing objects.
